About the role#
TSMC Arizona is hiring interns for facility and construction engineering roles for the summer of 2027. These positions involve supporting the operation, validation, and construction of critical infrastructure at our advanced technology fab. You will work alongside engineering teams to manage complex systems, including electrical, mechanical, water treatment, and gas and chemical distribution.
What you'll do#
- Support the operation and validation of electrical, mechanical, water treatment, or gas and chemical systems.
- Perform system walkdowns, validation, and startups.
- Develop operations and maintenance documentation.
- Manage and oversee construction activities for chemical, civil structural, electrical, water, or mechanical systems.
- Contribute to special projects within your assigned engineering scope.
- Support forecasting, reporting, and work planning.
- Troubleshoot commissioning challenges and field issues.
- Respond to requests for information to ensure project execution and optimal system performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. program at an accredited university.
- Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Industrial Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Ability to work full-time for 10 weeks on-site.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States.
- Strong communication, computer, presentation, listening, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift weights in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, including wearing required gowning.
- Proactive collaboration skills and a self-motivated approach to learning.
- Flexibility to change priorities and responsibilities as needed.
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and design is preferred.
