About the role#
The Claim Professional Development Program Internship offers hands-on business experience within the insurance industry. You will work with a designated manager or mentor to build a foundation in claims handling, customer service, and analytical problem-solving. This is a full-time, paid position based in Buffalo, New York, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Complete structured onboarding to learn internal systems and protocols.
- Gain exposure to Personal and Business Insurance claims of basic to moderate complexity.
- Learn strategies for investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims.
- Develop skills in estimating damage, determining coverage, and communicating with customers.
- Observe claim professionals through desk work and ride-alongs.
- Complete project work and perform other assigned duties.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree that you have either obtained or are currently pursuing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Relevant coursework in Business Administration, Business Management, Risk Management, Insurance, or Liberal Arts with a business focus.
