About the role#
The Business Insurance Underwriting Professional Development Program Internship is a 10-week summer program designed for students interested in a career in insurance. You will gain first-hand experience in commercial underwriting, receive on-the-job training, and learn about the property and casualty insurance industry. This internship serves as a potential pathway to our full-time Underwriting Professional Development Program.
What you'll do#
- Complete core assignments and training modules focused on insurance and underwriting principles.
- Work on meaningful projects and present your findings to local leadership.
- Use modern analytical and artificial intelligence tools while evaluating the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Complete self-paced professional development courses in areas such as time management and presentation skills.
- Learn about corporate functions including Risk Control and Claims.
- Engage in agency visits with Account Executives.
- Participate in the Enterprise Internship experience, which includes networking events, an executive speaker series, and the Rising Senior Intern Symposium.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Risk Management and Insurance, or Liberal Arts with a business focus.
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
