About the role#
The Business Insurance Underwriting Professional Development Program (BI UPDP) Internship is a 10-week summer program designed for students interested in a career in commercial insurance underwriting. This role offers hands-on experience in risk evaluation and product pricing. It serves as a potential pathway into our full-time Underwriting Professional Development Program.
What you'll do#
- Complete core training modules focused on insurance and underwriting principles.
- Work on projects assigned by your manager, which may include territorial risk assessments or business process analysis.
- Present your findings to local leadership, either independently or as part of a team.
- Use modern analytical and artificial intelligence tools, while applying critical thinking to evaluate the accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Learn about other corporate functions, including Risk Control and Claims.
- Attend agency visits with Account Executives.
- Participate in the Enterprise Internship experience, including networking events, executive speaker sessions, and the Rising Senior Intern Symposium.
- Complete self-paced professional development courses covering time management and presentation skills.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Risk Management and Insurance, or Liberal Arts.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work full-time during the program duration.
