About the role#
The Business Insurance Underwriting Professional Development Internship is a 10-week summer program designed for students interested in a career in commercial insurance underwriting. You will gain first-hand experience in risk evaluation and pricing while working alongside industry professionals. This role serves as a potential pathway to our full-time Underwriting Professional Development Program.
What you'll do#
- Complete training modules focused on core insurance and underwriting principles.
- Work on meaningful projects, which may include territorial risk assessments or business process analysis, and present your findings to local leadership.
- Learn to use modern analytical and AI tools, applying critical thinking to evaluate the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Participate in self-paced professional development courses covering time management and presentation skills.
- Explore other departments such as Risk Control and Claims, and join Account Executives on agency visits.
- Take part in the Enterprise Internship experience, including networking events, executive speaker series, and the Rising Senior Intern Symposium.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Risk Management and Insurance, or Liberal Arts with a business focus.
- A preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
