About the role#
The Bond & Specialty Insurance Underwriting Professional Development Program internship offers hands-on experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. You will learn how underwriters manage financial risk and build relationships with agents and clients. This program provides training in management liability, professional liability, and surety products across our business units. The internship lasts 10 to 12 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Complete project work and core assignments throughout the summer.
- Work with a designated coach to develop your skills in underwriting, sales, and marketing.
- Use analytical and artificial intelligence tools to support your work.
- Apply critical thinking to evaluate the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Attend the Enterprise Internship experience, including networking events, the Executive Speaker Series, and the Rising Senior Intern Symposium.
What you'll need#
- You must be pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor's degree.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Risk Management and Insurance, or Liberal Arts.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work on-site in Hartford, Connecticut.
