About the role#
The Bond & Specialty Insurance Underwriting Professional Development Program (BSI UPDP) is a summer internship for students interested in the property and casualty insurance industry. You will gain hands-on experience, receive on-the-job training, and work with professionals in the field. This is a full-time, on-site role lasting 10 to 12 weeks during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Complete project work and core assignments designed to build your skills.
- Partner with a designated coach to learn about insurance underwriting, sales, and marketing.
- Use modern analytical and AI tools to evaluate business risks.
- Apply critical thinking to assess the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Participate in company-wide internship activities, including networking events, an executive speaker series, and the Rising Senior Intern Symposium.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing or have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Liberal Arts, Management, Marketing, or Risk Management and Insurance.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- You must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. now and in the future. Please note that this role does not offer visa sponsorship.
