About the role#
The Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP) internship provides a professional work experience for students interested in a career in actuarial science. You will gain insight into the insurance industry through hands-on assignments and networking opportunities with leadership. This is a paid, full-time summer position.
What you'll do#
- Perform actuarial tasks across business lines including pricing, reserving, claim, and risk analysis.
- Use modern analytical and artificial intelligence tools to complete assignments.
- Apply critical thinking to evaluate the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Develop and present solutions to business and actuarial topics, often in collaboration with other interns.
- Participate in business workshops, work assignments, and social events.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Completion of one or more actuarial exams.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Suggested majors include Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or Computer Science.
Location & details#
- This role is on-site in Hartford, Connecticut, or St. Paul, Minnesota.
- The program runs from early June through the end of the summer.

- Subsidized housing is available for students living beyond a commutable distance.
