About the role#
As a Product Design Intern, you will work on making complex industrial technology easier to use. You will learn how our customers work and turn those insights into concepts you can prototype, test, and improve. You will work alongside engineers to refine how our products look and function, helping industrial teams understand equipment problems and take action.
What you'll do#
- Take a defined user problem from research to an interactive prototype.
- Work with product and engineering partners to test assumptions, refine the experience, and prepare designs for implementation.
- Support interviews or usability studies and translate findings into user needs and design priorities.
- Create task flows, wireframes, and Figma prototypes to explore and communicate solutions.
- Test and refine interaction details, including accessibility, information hierarchy, and error states.
- Document design decisions and handoffs.
- Review implementation with engineers against the intended experience.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related discipline.
- A portfolio showing your personal contribution, your problem-solving process, and how research or testing influenced your results.
- Proficiency in Figma and interactive prototyping.
- Strong attention to visual and interaction design.
- Ability to explain design tradeoffs and collaborate within technical constraints.
- Ability to respond thoughtfully to feedback.
- Experience with user research, usability testing, design systems, or technical products is helpful.
- Experience with physical-product and wearable projects is relevant if they show strong research and considered user interactions.
