About the role#
Toyota Racing Development (TRD) is seeking a Commercial Intern to support our Commercial Operations team. This role provides hands-on experience in financial analysis, budget tracking, and business reporting. You will work directly with our staff to assist in recurring reporting cycles and ad hoc business decisions. This is a paid, part-time position based in Costa Mesa, California, for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Support budget tracking and variance analysis by monitoring spending against plans.
- Prepare cost reports and assist with program cost, expense roll-up, and cost-per-unit analysis.
- Build and maintain financial and commercial reports for leadership review.
- Pull, clean, and reconcile data from internal systems and third-party sources.
- Conduct research on market trends, industry benchmarks, and competitive activity.
- Prepare presentations, charts, and summaries for internal meetings.
- Document and improve repeatable processes, including report automation and templates.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or Analytics.
- Standing as a rising junior or senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, specifically pivot tables, lookups, and basic financial modeling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ability to work 24 hours per week on-site in Costa Mesa, California.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present information to small groups.
