About the role#
TotalBond Veterinary Hospital offers an externship and preceptorship program for students currently enrolled in accredited Veterinary Technician programs. This program provides practical experience in a clinical setting to help you prepare for your career after graduation. You will work directly with our veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to gain hands-on experience in both routine and emergency care.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Administer medications and vaccinations.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
- Conduct laboratory tests such as bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Take radiographs.
- Provide care for hospitalized animals.
- Educate pet owners on preventive care.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Veterinary Technician program.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A desire to learn and a focus on animal care.
- Basic knowledge of animal handling and medical terminology is helpful.
- Ability to participate effectively in patient care.
