About the role#
TotalBond Veterinary Hospital offers a Veterinary Technician Student Externship and Preceptorship Program in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. This program provides practical, hands-on experience in a clinical setting to help students prepare for their careers. You will work directly with our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to gain exposure to both routine and emergency veterinary care.
What you'll do#
- Assist with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Administer medications and vaccinations.
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
- Conduct laboratory tests including bloodwork and urinalysis.
- Take radiographs.
- Care for hospitalized animals and educate pet owners on preventive care.
- Help maintain a clean and organized work environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- A strong interest in animal care and a desire to learn.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Enthusiasm for patient care.
- Basic knowledge of animal handling and medical terminology is helpful but not required.
