Veterinary Technician Student Externship/Preceptorship Program

About the role#

TotalBond Veterinary Hospital offers a hands-on externship and preceptorship program for students currently enrolled in accredited Veterinary Technician programs. This program provides practical clinical experience to help students transition into professional practice after graduation. Participants will work directly with veterinarians and support staff in a collaborative environment, gaining exposure to both routine and emergency veterinary care.

What you'll do#

• Assist with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
• Administer medications and vaccinations.
• Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures.
• Conduct laboratory tests, including bloodwork and urinalysis.
• Perform radiographic imaging.
• Provide direct care for hospitalized animals.
• Educate pet owners on preventive care.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Veterinary Technician program.
• A strong passion for animal care and a desire to learn.
