About the role#
The Intern Analyst for Model Validation will gain hands-on experience by supporting quantitative and analytical initiatives within the Model Validation team. You will work under the mentorship of senior team members to assist with research, regulatory analysis, and the maintenance of risk models. This role provides exposure to model governance standards and includes a guided term project that you will present to the team.
What you'll do#
- Support the Model Validation team with quantitative and analytical initiatives.
- Assist with research and regulatory analysis.
- Perform data cleansing, database maintenance, and optimization tasks.
- Automate manual workflows to improve operational efficiency.
- Support the review and documentation of risk models and analytical tools.
- Complete a guided term project aligned with team goals and present your findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Financial Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and write in-depth reports and recommendations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- High degree of integrity and ethical conduct.
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, Matlab, VBA, Power BI, or Tableau is preferred.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements like PFMI, OSFI, or EMIR Guidelines is an asset.
- Experience in the technology or financial services industry is an asset.
