About the role#
Threemile Canyon Farms offers a hands-on internship experience at a facility that milks over 35,000 cows and raises heifers and steers on site. This is a paid, full-time position that requires at least 8 weeks of work. You will work 55-60 hours per week. Start dates are flexible based on your academic calendar.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through major dairy departments including reproduction, milking, breeding, maternity, herd management, and the heifer raising facility.
- Participate in daily operations to learn how to manage cattle, maintain productivity, and prevent disease.
- Work alongside area supervisors, herd managers, and veterinarians.
- Complete a data collection project designed to improve management practices, tailored to your interests and farm needs.
What you'll need#
- A demonstrated interest in a career within the dairy industry.
- A desire for practical, on-farm experience.
- Current enrollment in an Agriculture program.
- Spanish language skills are preferred.

- This role is located in Boardman, Oregon.
- This is an on-site position.
- Upon successful completion, you will receive a $10,000 scholarship toward your education.
- Housing may be provided depending on availability.
