About the role#
We are looking for a Motion Design Intern to join the studio for a 3-month contract, with the potential to transition into a full-time role. This position is for someone early in their career who wants to work on real projects. You will work alongside designers and directors to build hands-on experience across 2D and 3D pipelines.
What you'll do#
- Support the motion design team on 2D and 3D projects for commercial, social, and digital campaigns.
- Assist in animating assets for short-form video, branded content, and broadcast work.
- Prepare project files, exports, and deliverables for multiple platforms.
- Organize assets and maintain clean project workflows.
- Participate in creative reviews, brainstorms, and internal critiques.
- Take feedback constructively and apply revisions efficiently.
- Stay curious about trends in motion, culture, design, and emerging tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a Motion Design, Animation, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Media Studies, or related program.
- Foundational proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
- Familiarity with Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Exposure to 3D tools, ideally Cinema 4D or Houdini.
- Understanding of basic animation principles like timing, easing, and composition.
- Ability to manage time and collaborate in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A portfolio that shows personality, taste, and an eye for motion.
- Bonus points for experience with Rive, Cavalry, Figma, or knowledge of 3D workflows, lighting, and rendering.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship based in Toronto, Ontario.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, with in-office attendance expected Monday through Thursday and remote work optional on Fridays.
- This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
