About the role#
The Field Sales & Services Internship at Thermo Fisher Scientific is a 10-week summer program designed for students interested in exploring both sales and field service career paths. This role offers an immersive look into how these teams collaborate to support our scientific mission. Successful interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities or leadership development programs upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Learn about our business divisions, instruments, and the customers we serve.
- Shadow experienced Sales Representatives and Field Service Engineers to observe daily operations.
- Gain insight into how sales and service teams work together to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Participate in a guided visit to one of our manufacturing sites to see how products are designed and built.
- Complete training on field service diagnostics, selling techniques, CRM tools, and customer engagement.
- Build professional connections with fellow interns, team members, and leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, or Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical).
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- At least 1 year of previous internship or work experience.
- Familiarity with technical drawings, engineering terminology, or scientific instrumentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other technical tools.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, emotional intelligence, and coachability.
- Proven leadership experience through athletics, student organizations, volunteer work, or military service.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems.
- Geographic mobility and flexibility for current and future roles.
- Reliable mode of transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
