About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship focused on the production process from grape to finished wine. You will work under the supervision of a Winemaker to learn facility operations and develop leadership skills. The role requires a commitment of at least six months.
What you'll do#
- Shadow teams in the cellar, analytical lab, and compliance departments.
- Learn lab procedures, identify wine specifications, and pull tank samples.
- Participate in facility sanitation and learn equipment functions by working alongside operators.
- Supervise grape processing during the crush season, including managing grape trucks and directing tank operations.
- Ensure additions and circulations are performed correctly.
- Conduct daily fermenter tastings and tank walks.
- Document production scale winemaking trials and participate in benchtop trials.
- Write and close out work orders while tracking cellar processing status.
- Provide status reports upon the completion of major tasks.
What you'll need#
- You must be 21 years or older.
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate program in Viticulture and Enology, with a minimum of Junior-level coursework.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer aptitude.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to solve problems creatively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to following safety regulations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks like bending, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
