About the role#
The University of Tulsa is hiring a student for a combined role supporting the Art, Design, and History departments. You will split your time between the photography lab and the gallery space. This is an on-site, paid position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
In the photography lab, you will clean and arrange equipment, mix darkroom chemicals, and perform inkjet printing. You will also assist with equipment checkouts and support students using the labs in Phillips and Kendall Hall.
As a gallery assistant, you will staff the reception area to greet visitors and answer questions. You are responsible for monitoring the gallery to ensure artwork remains safe. You will also help install and de-install exhibitions, manage clerical tasks like database input and photocopying, and assist with event setups and cleanup, including Thursday evening receptions.
What you'll need#
- Familiarity with Apple computers and Photoshop.
- Ability to handle and clean up darkroom chemicals.
- General knowledge of MS Office.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently.
