About the role#
The IT Networks Voice Team is looking for a student employee to support telecommunications services. This role involves managing voicemail, long-distance codes, and general voice-related tasks. You will gain experience in IT operations while developing your technical and organizational skills. We accept both Work Study and non-Work Study applicants.
What you'll do#
- Process Telecom-related tickets including voicemail and long-distance code requests.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and track IT and Telecom equipment.
- Coordinate the delivery and pickup of equipment across the Main Campus and the UNM Hospital.
- Safely transport, load, unload, and position equipment between University locations.
- Communicate with faculty, staff, students, and IT personnel in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist the Voice Team with various technical, administrative, and operational projects.
- Maintain regular in-office availability.
- Complete the UNM defensive driving course immediately upon hire.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program at UNM.
- Enrollment of at least half-time (6 hours) for fall and spring semesters.
- If you are a Work Study student, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Basic computer skills and experience using Windows.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to provide professional customer service.
- Ability to work in the office at least three days per week.
- Ability to lift and safely transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
