    About the role#

    The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at The University of New Mexico is hiring a Coordinator of Student and Graduate Services. This role supports a department with over four dozen graduate students and three undergraduate majors. You will work with faculty and students to manage administrative processes and outreach efforts.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage graduate student contracts to ensure they meet University and union timelines.
    • Assist the Graduate Studies Committee with application platforms.
    • Generate offer letters for accepted graduate students.
    • Develop and run the departmental graduate student orientation.
    • Advise students on degree requirements, class registration, PI selection, and general expectations.
    • Process departmental awards and scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students.
    • Collaborate with the Integrated Education and Research Committee to create recruitment plans, materials, and events.
    • Develop career services activities for students.
    • Provide general administrative support to the department.

    What you'll need#

    • A high school diploma or GED.
    • At least 7 years of related experience. You may substitute completed degrees from an accredited institution for experience on a year-for-year basis.
    • A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • Two years of experience working with UNM systems in an academic setting is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico.
    • Work Modality: This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work arrangement after the successful completion of training and based on supervisor discretion and business needs.
