About the role#
The MLC Student Ambassador program is a volunteer opportunity for college students to learn about The Mechanical Licensing Collective and share that information with songwriters, composers, and lyricists. This program runs for the Fall 2026 academic term. Participants are not employees or independent contractors of The MLC.
What you'll do#
- Share information about The MLC with songwriters, composers, and lyricists in your local community.
- Create 3 social media posts per academic period regarding MLC activities using provided materials.
- Complete all tasks outlined in the program syllabus.
- Participate in campus outreach if you choose to do so.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a U.S. college or university.
- Ability to provide proof of enrollment status.
- Completion of a video assessment regarding program educational materials.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Media Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, and Art.

- This is a remote volunteer program.
- There is no compensation for this role.
- Participation is for the Fall 2026 academic term.
About The Mechanical Licensing Collective
The Mechanical Licensing Collective is a nonprofit organization founded in 2018. Based in Nashville, it assists songwriters with the collection of mechanical royalties.
