About the role#
The Larry H. Miller Company is seeking an Asset Management Intern to work with the Vice President of Asset Management. You will work on the active management of our commercial, multifamily, and industrial portfolio. This role involves owning workstreams and taking responsibility for tasks similar to those performed by our full-time asset management team. You will interact with internal leadership, investors, property managers, and contractors.
What you'll do#
- Support investment management of existing multifamily and industrial assets by tracking actual performance against underwriting.
- Build and maintain financial models and pro formas, including running sensitivity analysis on value drivers.
- Underwrite prospective projects and refresh existing asset business plans.
- Research markets and submarkets to produce written strategic recommendations.
- Manage tenant improvement projects from scope to closeout, including tracking budgets and change orders.
- Attend owner, architect, and contractor meetings to capture and track action items.
- Perform punch walks on newly delivered units and manage punch lists.
- Track capital project spend against budgets and surface variances.
- Oversee property management teams and review operating performance, leasing activity, and expense variances.
- Participate in property site visits and inspections across the portfolio.
- Create recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership and investors.
- Assemble investor reporting packages and present recommendations to senior leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited University or College in an Accounting, Finance, or MBA program.
- Ability to commute to the Sandy, Utah office and work in-person.
- Strong financial analysis skills and advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience building or auditing a pro forma.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to own and prioritize multiple projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to investigate problems and develop a point of view.
- Comfort interacting directly with property managers, contractors, brokers, and investors.
- Willingness to flex hours occasionally around project schedules, site work, and reporting deadlines.
Location & details#
- Location: Sandy, Utah.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 10, 2027 to August 6, 2027).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $22.00 per hour.
- Schedule: Part-time, averaging 25 to 29 hours per week.
- Note: This position is ineligible for standard employee benefits.
