About the role#
The Information is looking for a Summer 2027 Editorial Intern. This role is for college or graduate students who want to become full-time business, tech, or financial reporters. You will spend the summer reporting and writing stories while receiving training and one-on-one coaching from our team.
What you'll do#
- Report and write stories for our website and email subscribers.
- Generate your own story ideas.
- Develop sources on a specific beat.
- Collaborate with experienced reporters on a variety of topics, including venture capital, social media, e-commerce, and advertising.
- Help maintain our proprietary databases of startups, such as companies in the generative artificial intelligence sector.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college or graduate student.
- Previous reporting experience at a college newspaper or other news outlet.
- An interest in breaking news and reading financial statements.
- The ability to quickly learn about a specific tech sector or company.
- A desire to hone your reporting skills, especially over the phone.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in New York, New York or San Francisco, California.
- Compensation is set at $1000 per week.
