About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship at Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO). You will work as a Summer Analyst alongside one of our investment teams. We designed this program to immerse you in the buy-side investment management industry. You will have the chance to present a capstone project to senior leaders at the end of the summer.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to teams in credit research, private markets, structured credit, quantitative equity, portfolio management, client management, or macroeconomic strategy.
- Participate in a mentoring program and an executive speaker series.
- Compete in a mock-trading competition.
- Join team volunteering and social events.
- Comply with the HIMCO Code of Ethics, including the disclosure of accounts, holdings, and trade pre-clearance.
- Disclose political contributions if required by our Pay to Play Policy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program.
- A deep interest in financial markets and basic knowledge of the field.
- Coursework in finance, economics, mathematics, computer science, or engineering.
- Experience in student investment or finance clubs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational abilities.
- A self-starter mindset with high intellectual curiosity and attention to detail.
