About the role#
The Arborist Trainee Internship offers students hands-on experience in tree care, plant health, sales, and client services. You will work on residential and commercial properties, as well as in an office setting. This is a full-time, paid position available for the Winter and Summer 2027 terms. You will be assigned a manager to provide mentorship throughout your time with the company.
What you'll do#
- Gain field experience in tree climbing, chainsaw operation, and plant health care.
- Work toward completing the CDP C Climber/Trimmer Career Development Booklet.
- Begin the Plant Health Care Career Development Booklet.
- Participate in monthly check-in calls to review your progress and meet company leaders.
- Engage in industry-related training and utilize provided climbing gear, uniforms, and PPE.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related discipline.
- A valid driver license. A commercial driver license is highly valuable.
- Enthusiasm for plant care and a genuine love for working outdoors.
- A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to be punctual and reliable.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in Richardson and Dallas, Texas.
- The position requires a full-time commitment of 40 to 50 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday with some Saturday work.
