About the role#
The Arborist Trainee Internship is a field-based position for students interested in the green industry. You will work alongside experienced arborists, climbers, and plant health care technicians to maintain tree and landscape health. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing, and general maintenance.
- Assist with tree and landscape installation projects.
- Operate field equipment safely, including chainsaws and chippers.
- Conduct plant health care tasks such as deep root fertilization, soil care, and pest management.
- Learn about the daily business operations of a residential tree care office.
- Participate in client service, sales, management, and leadership activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related field.
- A valid driver's license (a commercial driver's license is a plus).
- A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in plant care.
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to be punctual and report to work reliably.

- Location: Danvers, Massachusetts.
- Term: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Hours: 40-50 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays.
