About the role#
The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring interns for a field-based position in Woodstock, Vermont. This full-time, paid internship takes place during the Summer of 2027. You will work alongside experienced arborists, climbers, and plant health care technicians to maintain trees and landscapes.
What you'll do#
- Perform tree pruning, removal, cabling, and bracing.
- Install trees and landscapes.
- Operate equipment such as chainsaws and chippers safely.
- Manage plant health through deep root fertilization, soil care, and pest management.
- Learn about the business components of a residential tree care office.
- Develop skills in client service, sales, and leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related field.
- A valid driver's license, with a commercial driver's license being an advantage.
- Enthusiasm for arboriculture and proper plant care.
- A positive attitude and a genuine interest in working outdoors.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work well with others.
Location & details#
- Location: Woodstock, Vermont.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays.
