About the role#
The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring an Arborist Trainee Intern in New Berlin, Wisconsin. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling term. You will work outdoors as a member of a tree crew, gaining hands-on experience in tree care and maintenance.
What you'll do#
- Learn to climb trees and work as part of a professional tree crew.
- Perform tree pruning and removal services, including thinning and removing deadwood.
- Identify trees and follow industry pruning guidelines.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Assist in the removal of hazardous trees.
- Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
What you'll need#
- A love for the outdoors.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
- Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
- Preferred: Relevant pesticide or related licenses if required by state law.
