About the role#
The Davey Tree Expert Company is hiring interns for the Winter and Summer of 2027. This position offers a chance to gain field experience in tree care, plant health, sales, and client services. You will work 40 to 50 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday with some Saturday work required.
What you'll do#
- Learn to be a tree doctor through hands-on work.
- Engage in tree care, tree climbing, chainsaw use, and plant health care.
- Provide customer service to clients.
- Work on residential and commercial properties, as well as in an office setting.
- Collaborate with a mentor to gain diverse job experiences.
- Work toward completing the CDP C Climber/Trimmer Career Development Booklet.
- Complete the Plant Health Care Career Development Booklet.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license. A commercial driver’s license is highly valuable.
- Enthusiasm for arboriculture and proper plant care.
- A love for working outdoors.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Demonstrated ability to show up to work regularly and on time.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
