About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Englewood, Colorado. You will work on-site as a member of a tree crew to gain hands-on experience in tree care and plant health. This role is designed for students who want to build field skills in a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Learn to climb trees and work safely within the canopy.
- Perform tree pruning and removal services for clients.
- Identify tree species and follow industry pruning guidelines.
- Prune, thin, and remove deadwood.
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
- Assist with the removal of hazardous trees.
- Maintain and operate equipment including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
What you'll need#
- A genuine love for the outdoors.
- A background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or experience working at heights.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
- Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
- Relevant pesticide or related licenses are preferred if required by state law.
