About the role#
The College of Health Care Professions is seeking an Externship Coordinator to support Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT) students. This role serves as a bridge between students, faculty, and healthcare partners, ensuring that students successfully transition from classroom learning to clinical environments.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare facilities to secure externship placements.
- Coordinate student placements and support their transition into clinical training.
- Ensure the externship process complies with all state, federal, and accreditation standards.
- Conduct site visits and maintain regular communication with site supervisors.
- Organize and maintain accurate records, including timesheets, evaluations, and student feedback.
- Lead externship orientations and act as the primary liaison between students, faculty, and clinical sites.
- Support student professional development through resume building and interview preparation.
- Collaborate with Career Services to track job placement outcomes and maintain affiliation agreements.
What you'll need#
- Completion of an LMRT Program or Certificate with at least 3 years of professional experience, or a Radiologic Technology Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years of professional experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple relationships and processes effectively.
- A passion for student success and career development.
