User Experience Researcher Intern

About the role#

The User Experience Researcher Intern supports product teams by discovering user needs, experimenting with ideas, and evaluating solutions. This role contributes to a wide range of Church products, including mobile, web, and native applications, museums, visitor centers, and curriculum materials. This is a paid internship opportunity that can be structured as a 1-year part-time role or a 3-month full-time role.

What you'll do#

• Plan, conduct, analyze, and report on research findings for various Church products.
• Engage participants in conversations about products and services, both in-person and online.
• Conduct literature reviews and design surveys, interview protocols, and observation guides.
• Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns and trends.
• Maintain project management documents and databases while contributing to team problem-solving.
• Collaborate with product teams, management, and other stakeholders to disseminate research insights.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a graduate program (Master’s or Ph.D.) in psychology, sociology, anthropology, cognitive science, instructional design, user experience, or related fields.
• Experience with participant interviews, usability tests, focus groups, surveys, observations, and contextual inquiries.
• Strong interpersonal and writing skills, with the ability to communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently on multiple concurrent projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Experience engaging with culturally and linguistically diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with common office tools, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing and worthy of a temple recommend.
