The Public and International Affairs Office in Washington, D.C. serves as a satellite office for the Church Communication Department. The office focuses on increasing awareness, providing answers, and building bridges with other organizations. Interns support the office’s mission by monitoring legislation and events on Capitol Hill and assisting with high-profile events, such as the Festival of Lights, the Western Family Picnic, and the Ambassadorial and Congressional Easter Dinner.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the planning, execution, and follow-up for office events.
- Conduct research and apply problem-solving skills to support office goals.
- Handle administrative tasks, including reception duties, running errands, and assisting with mass mailings.
- Write professional correspondence and documents.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate student in international studies, political science, or a communications program.
- Ability to accept and follow directions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Outstanding writing and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be worthy to hold a temple recommend.
- Must meet the internship criteria of your sponsoring university.
- Ability to maintain professional conduct and wear business attire.
