About the role#

This internship within the Family Services organization provides direct counseling services and consultation to ecclesiastical leaders under close supervision. The role focuses on helping individuals navigate social and emotional challenges through resources that align with gospel principles. Interns operate in an environment requiring strict adherence to confidentiality, legal standards, and professional policies.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care under close supervision.
• Offer consultation and maintain positive rapport with Church leaders.
• Assist clients and leaders with social and emotional concerns, including mental disorders and family relationship issues.
• Maintain accurate, updated notes within the data collection system.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.

What you'll need#

• Must be a 2nd year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service within gospel standards and values.
• Knowledge of legal issues within the counseling profession.
• Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and ecclesiastical leaders.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and follow an individual training plan for professional development.
• Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
