About the role#

This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in assisting individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and professional consultation, ensuring all resources and care remain in harmony with gospel principles. Interns work in a professional environment that requires strict adherence to confidentiality, legal standards, and policy compliance.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care to clients under close supervision.
• Offer consultation and maintain positive rapport with Church leaders.
• Assist clients and leaders with diverse social and emotional issues, including mental disorders, family relationship problems, and crisis situations.
• Maintain accurate, updated clinical notes within the data collection system.
• Ensure the work area remains clean, safe, and organized.
• Develop and follow an individual training plan to support professional development.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and ecclesiastical leaders.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of legal issues within the counseling profession.
• Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service consistent with gospel standards and values.
• A professional appearance and attitude.
• Must be a member of the Church and worthy of a temple recommend.
