About the role#

This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and consultation in alignment with gospel principles under close supervision. Interns work in an environment that requires strict adherence to confidentiality, professional standards, and legal compliance while assisting with issues such as mental disorders, family relationship problems, and crisis intervention.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care under close supervision.
• Consult with and maintain a positive rapport with Church leaders.
• Maintain accurate, updated clinical notes in the data collection system.
• Ensure the work area remains clean, safe, and well-organized.
• Develop and follow an individual training plan for professional development.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment as a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service within gospel standards and values.
• Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the counseling profession.
• Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and ecclesiastical leaders.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Must be a member of the Church who is worthy of a temple recommend.
