About the role#

This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and professional consultation while ensuring all resources remain in harmony with gospel principles. Interns operate in an environment requiring strict adherence to confidentiality, legal standards, and professional policy.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care under close supervision.
• Offer consultation and maintain positive rapport with Church leaders.
• Assist clients and leaders with social and emotional issues, including mental disorders and family relationship challenges.
• Maintain accurate, updated notes in the data collection system.
• Ensure the work area remains clean, safe, and well-organized.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and ecclesiastical leaders.
• Knowledge of legal issues within the counseling profession.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service within gospel values.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
