About the role#

This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. The role focuses on providing direct counseling services and consultation to ecclesiastical leaders while operating under close supervision. Interns work in an environment that requires strict adherence to confidentiality, legal standards, and professional policies.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care under close supervision to individuals dealing with social and emotional problems, including mental disorders and family relationship issues.
• Consult with and maintain a positive rapport with Church leaders.
• Document clinical interactions by maintaining accurate and updated notes in the data collection system.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work environment.
• Develop and follow an individual training plan to support ongoing professional development.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service within gospel standards and values.
• Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the counseling profession.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to discuss sensitive subjects professionally.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Eligibility: Only members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend qualify for employment.
