About the role#

This internship within the Family Services organization supports Church leaders in caring for individuals facing social and emotional challenges. You will provide direct counseling services and consultation while working under close supervision. The role involves addressing a wide variety of concerns, including mental disorders, family relationship problems, and crisis situations, all while ensuring resources remain in harmony with gospel principles. You will operate in an environment that requires strict adherence to confidentiality, legal standards, and professional policies.

What you'll do#

• Provide clinical care under close supervision.
• Offer consultation and maintain positive rapport with Church leaders.
• Maintain accurate, updated notes within the data collection system.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized work area.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a 2nd-year master's degree student in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Ability to communicate sensitive subject matter professionally with clients and ecclesiastical leaders.
• Proven written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of legal issues relevant to the profession.
• Ability to maintain exacting standards of moral conduct and provide service consistent with gospel values.
• Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
