Full Time Paid Intern - The Friend Digital Messaging (Church Magazines)

About the role#

The Friend Digital Messaging internship is a full-time, paid position for the Fall 2026 term (September–December). This role focuses on creating engaging digital content for children and parents across the Church’s channels, including social media platforms and email newsletters. Interns gain hands-on experience in the full publication process and have opportunities to contribute to other Church magazines.

What you'll do#

• Create and schedule content for social media pages, including writing captions and newsletter copy.
• Film and edit video content for social reels.
• Find and edit user-generated content.
• Assist with managing and scheduling posts within social media management platforms.
• Edit and write magazine articles tailored for children.
• Participate in planning awareness campaigns and contribute to the overall publication process.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a full-time student in an accredited college or university, or completion of a degree within the last year.
• Preferred fields of study include Communications, Public Health, Journalism, English, Graphic Design, or Media Studies.
• At least one semester of college-level editing or writing experience (e.g., writing lab, literary journal, or newspaper staff).
• Strong skills in writing, revising, copyediting, and proofreading.
• A sound understanding of Church doctrine, history, organization, and policy.
• Proficiency in social media platforms and content creation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, maintain high accuracy, and work professionally with others.
• Members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend.

Location & details#

• Location: Salt Lake City, Utah (Church Office Building).
• Work Modality: On-site, with potential for partial remote work arrangements to be determined by hiring staff.
• Commitment: 40 hours per week for the four-month duration.
