Full-Time Paid Intern – Friend Writer/Editor (Church Magazines)

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term (September–December). The position requires a 40-hour work week. While based at the Church Office Building in Salt Lake City, Utah, the role may be performed in a hybrid capacity depending on arrangements made at the time of hire. Medical benefits are provided.

What you'll do#

The intern will assist in planning and creating content for a global children's audience. Responsibilities include:

• Writing and editing stories and articles.
• Finding and interviewing families and children.
• Assisting with the creation of activity pages.
• Participating in staff meetings to plan monthly issues.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a full-time student or graduation within the past year from an accredited college or university.
• At least one semester of college-level editing or writing experience (e.g., literary journal, writing lab, newspaper staff, or professor’s assistant).
• Strong writing, revising, copyediting, and proofreading skills.
• A sound understanding of Church doctrine, history, organization, and policy.
• Video production and social media skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Professionalism and the ability to work well with others.
• Membership in the Church and eligibility for a temple recommend.
