About the role#
The Christman Company is hiring an Assistant Project Engineer Intern for our Summer 2027 program in Livonia, Michigan. This full-time, paid internship offers hands-on experience with construction delivery methods and project management. You will work on-site to support our project teams.
What you'll do#
- Provide administrative and technical support to the project team.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFI), document control, submittals, cost tracking, and schedule updates.
- Summarize key discussions and decisions from project, owner, and subcontractor meetings.
- Review specification books to ensure project quality and compliance.
- Help the Project Manager identify inspections, maintain inspection logs, and coordinate with inspectors.
- Update contract drawings to reflect approved changes and manage document updates for trade contractors.
- Assist Superintendents with daily reports and organize project progress and quality photos.
- Maintain safety awareness, follow site-specific safety plans, and report concerns to project leadership.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Preference is given to candidates with prior commercial construction experience or leadership roles in student organizations.
