About the role#
The Sales & Management Internship at The Buckle is a paid, full-time, on-site program based in Ridgeland, Mississippi. This role is designed for students interested in retail management who want to learn how a business operates from the ground up. You will work directly with the Store Manager to gain hands-on experience in leadership, merchandising, and operations.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering and creating product displays.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating your teammates, and tracking performance results.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Develop your skills in recruiting, merchandising, and team leadership through active participation in store operations.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management from a four-year college or university.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- You are physically able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
