About the role#
The Sales & Management Intern position focuses on learning retail business operations while contributing to the store environment. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand management practices and gain hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and team leadership. This is a paid, on-site internship based in Amarillo, Texas.
What you'll do#
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics using internal tools.
- Complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Perform daily operational tasks such as cashiering, merchandise display, and register procedures.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes mornings, evenings, and weekends.
