About the role#
The Sales & Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in retail operations. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn how the business functions and what is required to excel in a management capacity. This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide helpful service.
- Recommend and locate merchandise based on guest needs.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Achieve personal sales goals and total net sales targets.
- Process transactions at the register and bag purchases.
- Identify and act on recruiting opportunities.
- Keep the sales floor organized and ensure new freight is displayed correctly.
- Handle cash register opening and closing procedures, including balancing drawers.
- Monitor the store for security risks and theft.
- Complete specific training sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including orientation, leadership, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category, set goals, and track your results.
- Provide weekly progress reports to the Area and District Managers.
- Participate in monthly conference calls.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university in a relevant field.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- No prior experience or training is required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
