About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while learning the fundamentals of retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how the business operates and what is required to excel in a leadership role. This is a paid, on-site internship based in Kansas City, Kansas.
What you'll do#
- Perform a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, merchandise display, and facility maintenance.
- Complete training modules from the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your progress.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker tool for specific departments or company initiatives.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Greet guests, assist with product selection, and maintain high service standards.
- Handle freight, manage inventory, and ensure the sales floor remains organized.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs in the store and backroom.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and specific holidays.
- Ability to perform all essential job duties satisfactorily.
