About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern at The Buckle, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of our retail business. This role focuses on developing your leadership, merchandising, and recruiting skills while you contribute to our mission of providing an enjoyable shopping experience for our guests. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics through the Performance Tracker.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned projects.
- Assist with daily store operations, including sales, merchandising, cashiering, and maintaining a clean store environment.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations Management, or a related field.
- A strong interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- The physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
