About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Store Manager to develop leadership skills while supporting the store mission of providing a positive shopping experience for guests. This is a paid, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker tool for your assigned department.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Perform daily retail tasks including cashiering, merchandise display, and routine facility cleaning.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete required internship assignments.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes mornings, evenings, and weekends.
