About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with store management to learn the fundamentals of the retail business. This role focuses on developing your leadership, merchandising, and recruiting skills while you contribute to the store mission of providing an enjoyable shopping experience for guests.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your own results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker to monitor progress in areas like denim, accessories, or footwear.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, such as cashiering, processing freight, and creating merchandise displays.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
